Default Firmware update to MBox2 mini needed?

Hello.

I am going to be upgrading to ProTools 9 and want to keep my existing MBox2 mini.

Am I going to need to update the firmware in the unit in order to get it to function properly with ProTools 9?

It is presently at firmware version 1.40

It probably depends on what Mac you are using. There seem to be a lot of people with problems using Mbox2's with the new Macbook Pro's and firmware updates haven't solved it:

Hello.

I'm not sure what model of hardware I'm going to be using as I am going to be upgrading my macintosh computer as well as PT. I do know that it is going to be an iMac probably running the most current shipping version of MacOSX. This is going to happen within the next two months.

Re: Mbox 2 Mini not recognized by Macbook Pro
Problem solved! i actually downloaded and installed the pro tools 9 LE mbox2 mini firmware updater and after the restart the green light turns on now and i can run pro tools (which is strange because im using 8) for a while pro tools was acting a bit weird (random dae errors and digital distortion with audio going in and out) ive mixed and produced for a couple hours today and everything was fine. i did the v1.40 update just a few minutes ago and it didnt seem to change anything since it was being recognized after the pt9 le firmware update. Thank you guys for the help!
