Default 6085 error when moving my mouse

I've got a wireless microsoft mouse, and when I'm playing sessions with a 256 buffer size, I get a 6085 audio device buffer underflowed error every time I move my mouse.

I remember running into this issue a while ago and fixing it somehow, but I just set up my computer again, and the issue is back. I've tried switching the usb port the mouse is plugged into, but that didn't help. Any ideas?

It's an i7 system by the way, if that makes any difference.

I still have the same prob, but most of my work doesn't need that low of a buffer setting. Tried almost all the usb ports to no avail, which another DUC'er said had worked for him?? I've thought of using a corded mouse,,, but haven't really needed to ,, yet?!! Anybody figure this one out??

Mike

So, any suggestions? I know I've seen other people have this issue here before. How do I fix it?

Have you tried it with a wired mouse? If the problem goes away, then you'll know for sure it's the wireless mouse causing the problem. Some people have better luck with them than others, but one of the things we recommend is to not use wireless devices, as they can cause problems in Pro Tools.

Same problem here(from time to time) with a Logitech usb mouse(wired). Buffer setting doesnt matter. But Im using an i3. (4 processors/85% usage). I can also make the error pop up by grabbing ANY plugin and moving it back and forth on the screen quickly. Sometimes -9129 may pop up but mainly -6085. Kinda Weird!

Maybe I need to do more tweaking.

Come on folks, doesn't ANYBODY read the top of the page? Post a Sandra report as descibed here: Help us Help You - READ THIS Before Posting! so we have a shot at spotting hardware issues. For every compatible system, there are likely a dozen that are not. We want to help, but need the facts. For this problem, I suspect a hardware issue like; maybe an incompatible graphics card, bad mouse drivers or USB conflict(try changing USB ports for the mouse receiver).

To hell with a Sandra Report. Maybe the Mac users who are having -6085 problems should post a Sandra report...lol.
"We've tried and tried but cant figure out the problem, so it must be the computer", (joking).

But thanks albee1952. I didn't really need help, was just reading thru old posts and replied to the OP. Had some spare time. My errors don't pop up much during normal workflow. Didn't have many problems with 7x. 8x was a little different, especially with the 8.0.x updates. But, I liked the new features. Spent a bunch of time troubleshooting and tweaking hardware, software, and helping others with similarly problems. I ended up going back to the original 8x with cs. After upgrading to an i3 system, the errors pop up about the same(from time to time). No biggie. I will keep my fingers crossed when I install WIN 7 and PT 9.
