Thanks for that! Think my IT guy needs a little spanking Back to the original question, I did say you PROBABLY can run it as an upgrade(without removing the previous version). I have done it both ways(and have had occasional issues but I probably install more often than the average user here as I am always finding ways to screw up my rig), but am passing on recommendations as I have been told by some PT experts. With .x releases, this is more "safe" to do, than going from, say PT11.x to 12.x. and this is on windows machines. Mac might open another can of worms as I understand that uninstalling PT on a Mac can be troublesome, depending on the version of PT and the version of OSX. If you adhere to my rule of always having a backup plan(ie, making a clone of your system drive and upgrading that, or saving a drive image so you can restore, in case of any issues), then the method becomes less crucial
