MoTU 24IO wont' connect
Hi all,
Recently acquired a MoTu 24IO. Been doing a lot of research and can't seem to find the drivers for it? I have a FireWire that fits into the "Audio Wire" port perfectly but I can't seem to get my Mac to read it. MoTu has this product listed as a PCI Card product, does that mean I need a card to run it even though it has a firewire out?? Is it even possible to run a card on my system? (-iMac - Late 2012; 8GB RAM; I5; 2.9GHz) I'm only in my early 20's and grew up in the digital world really not familiar how audio cards work. Anyone who might have some knowledge in this could really use some guidance! Thanks, |

Re: MoTu 24IO wont' connect
Unfortunately the Audio Wire ports on the 24I/O are not Firewire and use a proprietary protocol. This means that will also need the PCI-424 card in order to use the interface.
Here is a link to the manual for the PCI card and interface. The MOTO site does have a driver that includes the interface, but again, you will need the PCI card to use it. Download the MOTO Audio Installer to get the driver. Here is a link to the PCI-424 Compatibility page, which should give you the info you need to get the right card for your system. |
