Default Sharing Sessions btw PT8 and PT10?

Hi

I'd like to send a friend of mine all my tracks so he can add to them, then produce and mix the session. We're going to try to use Dropbox for the file sharing.

He has PT8. I have PT10. Do I have to save my session as something other than a ptx file for my session to work on his PT8?

Any other tips would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks!

Yes. You'll need to save the session as a .ptf file. To do this select "save as" and you should be given options for what version of pro tools you want the session to be saved as. Been a while since I've done this. I know there are other options. Can't remember if there's anything else you need to do.

'Save Copy In' is the only way to do it. Tick 'Include all Audio Files'. You may want to clean up unused playlists and unused audio files first. Especially if your upload speed is as crappy as mine....

Have a chat about plugins. Your mate may not have all the plugs you have and vice versa.

Hope this helps.

Yep. Thanks for catching that guys. It's been a while since I've converted sessions.
