Default Re: -9173 Error Finally Gone?

I'm still getting -9173 and -9171 errors here. Interestingly, sessions that used to hover around 12% total cpu are now averaging 2 or 3% cpu, which seems good, but what good is it if I still get very random and unpredictable spikes, which brings Pro Tools to a halt, usually in the middle of a take? Frustrating and embarrassing in a professional studio. Maybe I'll need to try removing all non Avid plugins and see what happens.

Yes! You should have run through standard trouble shooting stuff when you started seeing errors. And I understand it hurts but for the love of God, why did you let this out into a studio in front of customers without testing first? Hopefully you have a bootable system backup and are back using your previous studio setup.

See troubleshooting suggestions by me and others earlier in this thread.

If you want more help here after doing some troubleshooting I would suggest you start a new thread with all your system details, and describe the troubleshooting you have done. If you open a support case include that case number.

Hm, why do de have to test every new release that we pay for, before we can build up enough trust to use it in front of clients?
I agree, I also test and have a backup ready. I normally wait several weeks or months before I even install. I just wait until the worst bugs reported here get fixed. And yes, its a highly complex product with all the possible plugs, surfaces, interfaces and computers to connect with.
But is it really on us to do that work? For something we pay for? If I pay for an update and there are new features, fine. But I really expect to have less troubles than before, no?

Because you're the one dealing with your clients? Perhaps you don't want to update every 1-2-3 months but instead once a year or once per computer change, no?

There is absolutely no requirement to be using every PT release out there. Only what is suitable for you. How do you know? Test it.

Heyy guys. Have anyone actually solved this problem?? I am so frustrated with this program!!!!! I pay a ****load of money and it won't work??

I mixed on pro tools for quite a while now and suddenly it gives me the error 9173.. I did not change any settings or unplugged my hardware or anything. The thing that really frustrates me is the fact that I know I ran bigger sessions than the one I am busy with now..

In my system usage window, the cpu meter is on 100% but in my task manager, I'm only using 11% of my CPU..

Can someone please tell me if AVID is working on this problem, because it's driving me nuts!!

Thanks..

This happens once in the first few minutes after loading and running a session. Btw I've never been able to reproduce this with no third party plugins into the plugin folder.
