Default titanium w 002

Who out there is using this combo. What do you use as your audio drive since there is only one firewire port? What kind of track count are you getting? and with how many plugs?

I am about to purchase TiPB G4 1GHz with DIGI002 so I wonder why 002 has two FW ports?! Is it one for FW HD?!

The second FW port on the Digi 002 is not recommended for attaching a Firewire drive for recording. It can be used for less Firewire bus intensive tasks such as charging a video camera battery. The recommended setup is to connect your Firewire drive to the computer's FW port, and chain the 002 off of the drive. If your cpu only has one firewire port, and your fw drive only has one port, obviously that would not work. Most Firewire drives that you would use for recording have more than one port these days, though. If yours doesn't you can get a different case for the drive. You might be able to use something like a firewire hub instead, but I don't believe we have tested or approved that configuration.

So what could happen if FW HD attached to 002 second FW port? Any malfunctions or just a lack of speed for recording purposes?
