Error 6085 buffer underflow
Hi guys
I have just upgraded from a Digi002 to an Mbox 3 pro. Now im having a lot of these error saying im running out of CPU power even though im only working with a couple of tracks and a couple of plugins/instruments. Computer also freezes sometimes. I think I should be able to run at least a small session on 64 samples in the playback engine. I am connecting to a stationary computer (3.4 ghz quadcore i7, 4gb ram) through a PCI firewire card running Windows 7 SP1. Im running on firewire LEGACY driver as AVID recommends. Everything is freshly installed and all drivers are up to date using a program called Driver Booster. Pro Tools 10.3.10. The computer seems to be running very smoothly generally. - Im thinking the Mbox 3 pro has some other demands for the firewire connection than my old Digi002? - Maybe my PCI card is not good enough? Any recommendations? (Besides SIIG. Seems to be difficult to get in Denmark). - Maybe some settings with the firewire drivers you can adjust? - Maybe some other components/drivers causing problem you can suggest i try to remove? Thanks! Kasper

Re: Error 6085 buffer underflow
Just my 2 cents, but I would uninstall Driver Booster. Then I would go to Device Manager and click to update the firewire driver, select Update Driver>Let me pick from a list> and look for another option named "TI Compliant..." and choose that driver(I know Avid recommends the (Legacy) driver, but it never worked for me with a DIGI003). If that option is not available, you may have an incompatible firewire controller. Audio interfaces work best with a TI controller(Texas Instruments), and while they MAY work with other brands, often they won't
Also, how did you convert from the 002 to the Mbox, Just connect the Mbox and let it "self-install"? If so, I would start over by uninstalling Pro Tools(also check the option to remove the HD Driver AND all prefs and database files), AND uninstall the PACE 64 bit support(which will get re-installed automatically). Then re-install 10.3.10(you will see a popup about installing PACE again). I assume you are recording to a separate hard drive?
