Default Anybody running Malwarebytes Premium with 2018.7?

Currently running Windows Defender only and using smart browsing behavior. I've used the free version for years but thinking it might be smart to harden my defenses a bit. Malwarebytes Premium looks like an option.

Anybody using it? Thoughts, experiences?

I used the trial month and it made no difference. It does pretty much the same as Defender. Having said that, I don't know browse risky sites.

I had installed the free version after being away from it for awhile and actually ended up with the Premium trial but didn't realize until it expired and reverted back to free.

I didn't notice any hit on performance but wasn't really watching for it and didn't do any comparative testing either.

I have 2 computers, one for PT and one for Work/Admin. I have Windows Defender activated on the Work computer and, because I have Windows 10 Pro, I'm able to disable Windows Defender using Group Policy on the PT computer. I very rarely or ever go online with the PT computer, the exception being if I use App Manager or ILM or Waves Central to do any updating. All other updates are downloaded to the Work computer. Every once in a while I'll reactivate Windows Defender and run a scan with Malwarebytes Free, SUPERAntiSpyware free, Windows Defender and Windows Defender offline, just in case. I also use Macrium Reflect (paid) to back up my drives nightly so I can go back quickly if anything goes awry - and all I've lost is what I've done that day. And, the paid version of Macrium Reflect has Image Guardian, which is supposed to ensure that each image is immune to ransomware.

I do regular imaging/backup with Acronis. My computer has to be multi-use so I have to have access to the internet. I have had no problems with Windows Defender but just thought recently it would be a good idea to harden the defenses a bit.

Defender allows you to bypass folders. I do it for my audio apps and plug-ins. I also run a scan with Malwarebytes free every few weeks.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I went ahead with the premium subscription and notice no performance or resources issues with 2018.7.

How did this thread get chucked down into general discussion can...?
