1. (a) How do I record with efx going to tape. --- example. (compress vox using waves ren comp while recording)

(b) How do I montior with reverb but not record to tape?

2. Is there a way to do a live fade in or out while in rec. mode ---(example. recording vox and would like to fade out as the vox is being rec.)

3. How do you group audio regions without grouping the track

4. Will solo work on Aux tracks

5. How do save your own preset when using digi plugs

6. Does PT offer any online presets for plugs

7. Is it possible to use my UAD1 with pro tools, if so how?

8. When I repeat or dup loops (usually 4 or 8 bars loops) for 4-5 min long, the loop will somehow get off by samples . (example the loop will start at 48:01:01 and end at 56:01:01 even though the original loop was at 05:01:00 - 9:01:00 and repeated and somehow it just shift, i know it might be difficult to under stand but just take a 4 or 8 bar loop and repeat or duplicate it for 4- 5 min and zoom in around the 3-5 min timeline and some how it seems to be shifting on the time

INPUT YOUR SOURCE TO AN AUX TRACK WITH ITS OUTPUT TO AN AUDIO TRACK. THIS WILL PRE-PREOCESS BEING WRITTEN TO THE TRACK. CAREFUL WITH COMPRESSORS HERE, YOU COULD BE CLIPPING ON INPUT AND NOT NOTICE IT.

(b) How do I montior with reverb but not record to tape?
AGAIN, SEND THE OUTPUT OF THE AUDIO TRACK YOU ARE RECORDING TO TO AN AUX TRACK WITH YOUR REVERB. THIS WILL BE A POST RECORD SIGNAL AND WILL NOT BE PRINTED.

DON'T BOTHER; FADES ARE EASY TO PUT IN AFTERWARDS AND MUCH MORE ACCURATE.

SIMPLY SELECT ACROSS TRACKS

4. Will solo work on Aux tracks
YES

5. How do save your own preset when using digi plugs
THE BUTTON TO THE LEFT OF 'DEFAULT' WILL OPEN A MENU SO YOU CAN SAVE THE SETTINGS.

6. Does PT offer any online presets for plugs
DIGI DOESN'T, BUT THERE ARE OTHER SITES. WHY BOTHER?

7. Is it possible to use my UAD1 with pro tools, if so how?
YES BUT I DON'T USE ONE SO I DON'T KNOW HOW.

USE SHUFFLE AND MAKE SURE THE LOOP IT ONE SAMPLE SHORT OF THE NEXT BEAT. OR USE GRID MODE AND MAKE SURE THE SAMPLE IS SHORT BY SEVERAL SAMPLES. YOU CAN ALSO CROSS FADE TWO SAMPLE TOGETHER IF YOU REALLY NEED THAT CONTINUOUS SOUND.

Also, read the manuals and most of this would be much clearer. You have to know how signals are bussed and processed to mix correctly. PTLE is very intuative, but you need to know what tools you have at your disposal. Enjoy!
