Midi Drum Editor Like Cubase
Hello. I'm trying to find a drum editor like the one I can Find in Cubase.
I know that there is a LOOOOONG workaround for this called "Drum editing matrix" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3bnbzpKUvI But still it is missing the flexibility that you can find in Cubase and in Reaper 7 to edit Drum midi tracks. In protools is a nightmare and is still holding mi back to switch from cubase. Regards. |

Re: Midi Drum Editor Like Cubase
The editor in Superior Drummer 3 is pretty close, and it can be used as a stand-alone application or as a plugin in Pro Tools.

Re: Midi Drum Editor Like Cubase
Yes I know. The problem is that I use Cubase drum editor to switch between Drum plugins according to the occasion, I use Steven Slates, SD3 and Addictive drums for different things. I think it's sad not to have a drum editor like in Reaper7 and Cubase. Its so flexible. You can switch between drum plugins or edit your drum parts on the fly.
Pro tools Midi editor is a pain and a Creativity killer while composing drums and mixing. |

Re: Midi Drum Editor Like Cubase
Is why I keep a copy of Cubase some things midi it just does better.... but I think that comes down to the approached these two software packages come from... Cubase has always been big on midi where PT came from the recording of analog systems.... if they could only join together with those two directions. In PT I use Xpanda and edit through the midi edit window for drums these days and it’s pretty good.

Re: Midi Drum Editor Like Cubase
Personally I think an in built step sequencer and arp would be very worthwhile additions to PT and a great expansion of the midi.
Also, a dedicated drum editor is the most important of the lot.. Look how easily and integrated presonus added it in S1 V4.. something like that where you just click in the piano roll to flick between drum and note mode.
