PT9 Playback Problem...

Hi so I'm still somewhat new to the full functionality of PT, and I'm having an issue where it is not going into playback at all. It can't even handle 1 beat of a click track. I tried increasing the H/W buffer size to 1024 samples but it still wont go into play back, also tried reducing the amount of host processors PT is using.

Can some suggest what I can do to fix this problem? Thanks.

Also forgot to add - I am using Saffire Pro 40 interface + Mac Lion X for an operating system - I know PT just released an update for Mac Lion.

Once again I thought I'd mention that everytime I change the buffer size I get this really ANNOYING continuous popping sound, in either the left or right earphone. I am not sure to how fix this; pro tools will not go into playback at all

I'm dealing with a similar issue. If I play a given region of audio, popping noises appear randomly. They sound exactly like waveform clipping, but if I replay the same region, the noise might be gone or in a different place. I had this problem with PT LE and 9 has only recently been giving me grief. No one I've talked to has had any idea about the cause.

Need system details and error messages before anyone can even begin to troubleshoot. Just saying it doesn't work doesn't tell us anything.

In my case, iMac i7, 002 Rack, OSX 10.6.8, PT LE 9.03, Seagate 7200 rpm hd w/FW 400.

I never receive error messages.

I'm currently upgrading to 9.05.

I'm not sure what other information I could provide.

oh and let me add, playing around with playback engine settings seems to have an effect on the problem but it's not clear what that effect is. With some settings it is worse than others, but always present to some extent.

Update incase anyone runs across this. I changed the disk buffer to level 0 (400 ms) and the problem suddenly vanished. I am finally a happy camper.
