ANALOG MIXER AND PRO TOOLS

Just wondering how to incorporate a Mackie 24.4 VLZ Pro with Pro Tools. I'm a bit lost.

Matt, I am using a Mackie 24.4 VLZ and Digi001 together.

What I do is use the channel inserts as direct outs. You do that by putting a 1/4" cable in halfway (one click in). The insert becomes a direct out of sorts. This inserts are pre EQ and pre fader. The only knob that works (going to the insert out) is the gain knob..
However.. this method works great when tracking because you can monitor everything through the board rather than through Pro Tools.. No Latency.

I do that by pressing record and mute on a track in protools.

This works pretty well for me.

I still don't understand how I can put like my drums from pro tools to channel 1...pads to channel 2...vocals to channel 3 and so on...

then from the aux/send use my fx and compressor for the channels?

sorry man... but i'm still lost.
