Default plug-in noise on Venue profile

Hello there!
our company using two VENUE Profile system.
one system have 4 dsp cards and another one have 3 dsp cards.
and we use venue 3.1 plug-in pack and WAVES V8 and V9 SSL plug-in.

during use Venue 3.1 plug-in. like Fairchild and Dynamic plug-in.
cause by plug-in noise.

We want to why cause by this plug-in noise?
and how solve this plug-in noise?

we try re-install venue software and clear console and more.
but we don't know how re-install windows. but this is not important thing.

How can I solve plug-in noise? this is important thing.

Hi there!

Many Waves plugins that emulate hardware units also emulate their noise.

To remove it, you need to switch off 'analog' mode or 'mains' (whatever it is called in a plugin).

For example, with Waves PuigChild that emulates Fairchild compressor, you need to switch the 'MAINS' switch (bottom left corner) to 'OFF".

Hope this helps! Cheers!

Unfortunately that is the nature of that plugin, and the reason I don't use it. One of those cases where they don't give you the option to turn off the "analog" modeling noise. If it doesn't suit your needs, I recommend trying other compressors.

The profile micpres can be very noisy especially just before the next micprestage, notice the difference between -21 and -22. Many plugins seems to exaggerate that noise.

I remember when I first started testing the first Venue console that came into our country, in our warehouse. I was using JBL EON sitting right in my face and I tested out all the plugins using that box. For some strange reason this speaker amplified all the noises that the system created and I felt terrified back then. But in real life, I have never actually heard any of these noises from the actual PA or never have I considered Venue preamps to sound noisy when working with audio tracks recorded from any of the Venue desks - actually the other way around - I consider them to sound very good and clean!

So my suggestion to the original poster is, if the Fairchild's sound too noisy to you in your sitation, use something else. That is the beauty of Venue systems that you can use what fits your needs. I for example like to use Fairchild's on my rock vocal channels because the analog distortion it creates tends to bring the signal a little bit upfront in the mix, compared to the digital clean.
