Default ProTools 8 crashes when i try to create or open any session

Hello.
Im having a really huge problem. Whenever I try to open any existing session or start a new one, my program crashes. I can see the different tracks being created/imported but after that the program closes. I get no error message from the program.

Im using MacBook Pro 2,6ghz core duo 2 with 2GB RAM and an Mbox 2, Running Leopard
Ive tried opening and creating sessions on the system HD and an external drive.
Tried using different USB ports, and unplugging/restarting the system countless times.

Any ideas?

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?
What kind of external drive, and how is it attached to the computer?
Oh, and what os and pt version?

The crashing happens from the internal and an external USB drive, so I dont believe that is the problem. I have the latest version of ProTools LE 8, dont know what number that is, but updater says it is up to date.

Mac OSX Leopard 10.5.8

Well, with pro tools, working from the system drive is not really recommended, nor using an usb drive. That is clearly unsupported.

Have you tried trashing prefs and databases?
Also, it can be some os related thing, you can download and use onyx, that is for maintaining the os.
How did you upgraded your os? (software update menu or combo update?)

I tried trashing the prefs and databases, didnt work. Also ran onyx, repaired permissions and startup disk from the os x install cd. And it still didnt work. I upgraded the os through the software update menu. I guess i have to try a reinstall of protools?

Try removing all the plug-ins from your plug-ins folder to the plug-ins unused folder, trash preferences, restart and try to launch Pro Tools.

If it launches, we'll know it's a plug-in related problem, in which case you should make sure all installed plug-ins meet the minimum version requirement from our Plug-In Compatibility Grid.

I have tried re-installing ProTools 8 now, and I still get the same problem. I also tried moving all plugins to the unused plugins folder, didnt solve it. This is really frustrating! Any more tips?

Can you upload a crash report for us to look at? They're usually too long to paste here on the DUC, so use a free file hosting service.

You can find the crash logs at MacHD>Users>your account>Library>Logs>CrashReporter.

Upload the latest Pro Tools '.crash' files.

I have had the same problem.
I've tried trashing all my prefs, reinstalling protools. I haven't installed any new plugins or anything. I had a fully working session and then came back to it and it crashes on the the start.

Here is the crash log

I also have the same problem but in Pro Tools HD 8. I've tried everything said here but nothing has worked.
