I love it!
The distortion is to die for.
It is super cheap to run.
I can load 80+ on my 466 G4
ALL the McDSP plugs rock.
I come from 2" land and I was having a lot of trouble getting the 001 to sound usable.
Step one was addressing latency and step two was find some distortion to add ----AC1!

They have demos so, try before you buy.

A must if you like tape.

Reading through the other posts that was linked to, I saw mention of:

"POWr Dither"

I followed the development of this algorithm and knew it was intended for release with protools; Ive been so busy I havent followed up. I havent seen mention of this here in the DIGI forum and I don't see it in the plugin list..

Is this a TDM goodie, or a behind the scenes enhancement?

Thanks!

My decision to switch to Mac was partly based on the fact that I could use McDsp plugs. I am doing a friends band's demo and today I used the AC1 in mono on every channel of a 16 channel mix. The sound is stellar. period. The AC2 is not as useful as the AC1, to me, but still cool.

I beg to differ.
I find the AC2 indispensible.
It is the one I put across all.
