Default Error on importing Audio

I am running Pro Tools HD 7.3.1cs6 on a Quad Xeon with Tiger 10.4.11.

I frequently import polyphonic BWF files using the import audio command. I can then varispeed the audio I am importing using the src box on the bottom right corner of the import window. I consistently get an error with the same files when importing 24bit 48k multitrack file when specifying a different sample rate other than 48kHz.

The error reads: "Could not complete the Import Audio command because Assertion in "/Volumes/Development/vb_cliff/AlturaPorts/NewFileLibs/FileFormat/MacBuild/../../FF/Audio/Processing/FF_AudioProcessingDecWaveform.cpp", line 106."

I see this behavior on a PPC machine as well when running with the same system software and Protool software.

I have 2 other machines: Both are at OS X 10.4.10 or lower and running Protools 7.3.1 CS2. Neither machine throws out this error.

Has anyone encountered this? Has any developed a work around. Yes, I threw out the prefs, I threw out the databases, etc, etc,

ANY IDEAS??

Patrick

Delete the Digidesign Database on your audio drives and restart.

Getting the same thing trying to SRC. Deleting the digidesign database folders and restarting doesn't work. Tried it several times. What else could be causing this? Never had a problem before.

Are you only deleting those folder or are you also making sure to delete the master volumes folder located at MacHC>Library>Application Support>Digidesign>Databases>Volumes?

Yes, as well as DigiSetup.OSX, prefs, and other folders and files suggested in the General Troubleshooting doc. I repaired G5 HD permissions.

It seems I'm having other problems that are possibly related: When opening a session with soundfiles that have been moved, Pro Tools no longer automatically finds the missing files, ever. I always have to manually relink.

My workaround for the SRC was to create a PT session with the sound files to be converted and then use Import Session Data with SRC in another session. I'm glad that worked.

Digi, thanks for your support.

Serge
