Default Error AAE 9173! Urghhh!!!

Hey all,

I'm running PT 11.3.1 on OSX 10.10.2.
Very often when I try to bounce audio to disk, I get an AAE 9173 (even though system usage is very low - e.g. 5% CPU and about 25-27% memory).

The bounce is stopped. If I hit playback again without restarting Pro Tools it is very hissy throughout. The only thing to do at that point is restart PT.

The only way I can bounce now is offline....

I have a feeling it has to do with the video engine because I can bounce in real-time when there's no video involved in the session.

Help anyone?

Cheers,
Mony

Same things not happening for me as well-using PT 11.3.1 on Yosemite 10.10.3 with i7 quad processor-bounce only works when all plug-ins are disabled-tried a 6 track mix with only Dverb enabled-no luck, CPU error message after 3 minutes. I'm a newbie, but all the threads I look at seem to indicate a fairly complicated situation between users and Avid. Thoughts anyone?

Is this happening when bouncing to QuickTime? If so, have you tried the same bounce again?

I have a ticket open with Avid, and Brandon M. within their support group remoted into my system last Friday night and we spent nearly 2 hours troubleshooting an AAE -9173 while bouncing to QuickTime. We came to the conclusion that it only happens on the first attempt to do a realtime bounce to QuickTime. If I attempted a second realtime bounce to QuickTime, it worked. Offline bounce to QuickTime always worked.

I haven't been able to bounce to disk reliably since version 11.2.1, which I can't go back to now with OS X 10.10. Online bounces give the error 9173, offline, it just crashes with a crash log of gibberish. The computer has plenty of power and memory, this has been happening in every update since 11.2.1 (running, or trying to run 11.3.1 now)

This happens to me all the stinking time- bounce or no.
Why haven't they fixed this problem? The forums and others besides are littered with this issue.

Same error on Win 7 64bit systems. But not just getting the AAE-9173 on bounces... it shows up all throughout working with Pro Tools 11. As a matter of fact, I'll get the error with a file open, simple sitting idle if I wait a few minutes. It has been a major issue 'round here for a while: on different systems, with different interfaces, after removing all plugins, etc. We've rolled back versions, replaced video cards (from ATI to approved Nvidea cards just in case it was video related issue)... we've tried all the tips and tricks. Nada....
We can't use Pro Tools 11 to record tracks without encountering stutters or the dreaded 9173 error. For the first time we are looking into different platforms and DAWs but would so love for Pro Tools to fix this stuff so we can dance with the one that brought us.

Win 7 Pro
3.4 i7
16 gb mem

once your system goes "Hissy" .. just toggle the buffer settings in playback engine .. and you might want to up the buffers when bouncing .. does this only happen on Realtime Bounce or Offline as well ???

Just a thought,... but I had 2 9173 errors when bouncing to disk when the file type was aiff..

just re did the bounce as wav and everything worked.

could this be a link to the issue since some have it and other don't and no where have I ran across the bounce file type mentioned EXCEPT for quicktime

thoughts???
