Default BFD and strange volume behavour

Hi,

I'am trying to use BFD, haven't used it for 5-6 weeks, but today i'm programming with it and i'm gettiing this od volume behavour!? every time it receives a midi note for the kik it is automation the direct master fader. Each hit sets it to a different level!! all velocity is set to equal and there is no automation selected in BFD, infact all automation is disabled.

Midi

Chris

Well, I'm gonna take a stab.... BFD is reading the hit velocity and programming the master fader with the hit velocity.

Two or three things to do. One: there's a great forum at http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=13

The guys who wrote the s'ware respond almost immediately to BFD questions with authoritative (sp?) info.

Two: There's a reset controllers feature somewhere under one of the buttons on the right side of the program. (You could try to program a BFD session with only one drum hitting repeatedly at one volume setting to see if the MFader sits still....At least that will confirm that the velocity info is riding the MFader.)

Sounds like a midi routing deal, which for me is always a one-day head scratch. Good luck...

What version of BFD are you using? 1.5 is just about to pop.. should be worth the wait and probably fix your prob at the same time.

Yep, sounds like your master volume fader has a MIDI "CC" controller message mapped to it that your e-drums kit is using for something else. There's a section in the BFD manual about reassigning BFD's CC mappings so that this won't happen.
