Will this motherboard (ASUS P7P55d) do a HD3 PCIe system?
Thanks

I'm also still looking at this board.
(EVGA 170-BL-E762-A1 LGA 1366 Intel X58 4-WAY SLI Classified XL ATX Intel Motherboard)

Here's the link>> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813188059

I have HD3 PCIe cards.

hi,
i have a question for Asus P5WDG2 users. after circa 10 minutes of operation my mobo's temperature goes over 45 C. Do you have similar problems?
If yes, how did you solve it? Do you use any extra cooler for northbridge etc.?

I can also use some recommendation on cases.

For my lastest build, I used an Ikonik case that I got from newegg. Here's the link.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811118027

It's a monster, definately the largest computer case I've ever used. There's so much room, it makes installing everything a breeeze!! Like working on an old Chevy, where you could practically climb in the engine compartment to work!!

Hey Brandon,
Our computer is set-up in a machine room, so I've never really paid attention to the noise level. It does seem pretty quiet though.

I’ve been happily mixing away on my ASUS P4C800-E deluxe HD3 PCI with Procontrol (built on Nikki K’s advice) for the last 4 years and it’s still a very cool system, I got PT8 HD the other day and it works just fine, there does seem to be an increasing reliance on RTAS plugins and having read every post here twice regarding building a new system I still feel I need to ask a question .

i7 is the way to go, incredible power as exhibited by the guys over at the LE build forum with their dverb tests achieving 400 to 500 plugins ...wow!! There aren’t too many motherboard choices available for a HD3 PCIx around, Philippe in Belgium (pm mastering studio) has his P7P55D working well it seems and it’s my best candidate at the moment. The Supermicro board of Kirkgale and Third Eye Studios seem to be fine with a HD2 but has difficulties with HD3 and I don’t want to lose a card.
I did come across this board GA-P55A-UD3R which has 3 PCI slots USB3 etc and it looks very promising
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/...ProductID=3240 has anyone given it a try? anyone for-see any problems? If this board works then people with HD3 PCIx would at least have a choice for their builds.
