Dear All,

Since 7.2 was released, I keep experiencing a crash when I use the track ball on RTAS virtual instruments such as SampleTank XL and Stylus RMX.

Is this a known bug?

Hi,

I use track ball on both Sampletank and Stylus RMX and there's no problem at all!! you're track-ball's driver must be in conflict with these VI's.

Make sure you have the latest driver for your track ball, or throw the track ball away and get a Logitech multi fucntion track ball. Cordless Optical TrackMan® P/N: 904369-0403 USD 59.95

Dear Chris,

Many thanks for this. This is an Apple Mac cordless trackball mouse. The crash only happens when I have more than 2 RTAS virtual instruments in my session. The rest of the time, it works fine.

are you using a cordless keyboard? I tried the apple and the apple mouse (cordless) and it kinda sucked.

also - plugsound pro wouldn't run at all.

Hey Scott,

Personally, I'm on a cordless Apple keyboard and track ball mouse, and it works fine. Except for the PT crashes when I use the track ball on RTAS virtual instruments, when more than 2 are loaded.

If you use a wired mouse/trackball is everything fine?

There is probably some logic behind why Digidesign calls for the Wireless/Bluetooth to be turned OFF when in PT. I've definitely experienced issues, crashing when using my bluetooth mouse and PT. But I don't know specifically why RTAS would cause the crash.
