Can I open a PT10 project in PTLE 8?

I'm going to work with a guy having PTLE 8 and I will be using PT10. Can we send project files back and forth without problem since the projects will only contain wave files and no plugins?
I don't have PT10 yet so I can't test for myself.

YES you can work together, but not as easily as you used to.
PT8 will not open a PT10 session.

For the person using PT10, every time you want to send work to your PT8 colleague, you will have to use the "SAVE COPY IN" option.
This lets you set the bit depth, sample rate, and PT version you want to save a new copy of your session as. You also specify which assets to include or exclude in the new copy. You need to choose the "PT7 -> 9" option.
Note: Some of the newer features of PT10 will not transfer over to the older PT8.

This process takes a new copy of all related assets and puts them in a new folder wherever you specify.
The easiest check when it's done is to see if the session file has changed from a .ptx (PT10 format) to a .ptf (legacy format)

We have a TDM PT10 and an M-Powered PT8 here and while we can work together, it's a bit of a pain in the ass to do all this copying and transfer every time. We'll be shortly upgrading our 2nd room to PT10, but for now it gets us by.

Thank's Matt for clarifying. Well, we will manage somehow. Probably I will import tracks from his projects most of the time into 10.
I guess import tracks from 10 to 8 is'nt an option either?
