No they are not, as plain as day, Sandra is telling you what it sees. If they are labeled the same then you have some junky mislabeled memory. Maybe the labeling/memory is counterfeit.

There is a wealth of great information on DUC about building very stable/high performance PCs for Pro Tools. I doubt anybody here would recommend using an AMD processor, if only because there is such little experience with them. Next time start with that info available on DUC before building a PC or having one built for you.

But who knows if this is even relevant to your problem. But the rate of progress here means you are likely not going to get this solved quickly. Your first post here should have included a Sandra report and you should have already pulled a DIMMs or put new ones in the PC to see if that helps or not. And be considering next steps including replacing the Interface card, or worse case PC or motherboard.

The only time I ever had the error you're seeing I had a bad RAM stick.

Cheers,

Been a while, I know, but everything seems to be clear sailing. What I did was switch the RAM around: originally, the RAM with the lower frequency was in slot 1, the higher frequency RAM was in slot 2. Coming up on a week of no problems, and Pro Tools is not causing issues.

Thanks for all of your suggestions.

You have mis-matched memory. Different speeds and timings. Ideally, for any computer to operate properly, you should have exact memory sticks, sold in a kit, that have been tested by the manufacturer to be compatible with each other. Try removing one of the memory sticks to see if your stability issues go away.

Using only either RAM chip individually doesn't help. Quite quickly it bsoded.
