Default Command|8 offline and no solution available?

Problem: Command|8 offline: as seen in others messages but never found a solution

The Command|8 can send control messages to Pro Tools 7 LE, but can't receive.

The scribble strip on Command|8 says "Command|8 (Offline)"
Pro Tools react to Command|8 transport keys, but Command|8 does not react to Pro Tools fader movements.
Get this message poping up in regular intervals:

"Pro Tools is unable to communicate with Command8.
Power-cycle Command8 and check its connections.
Note, if Command8 is not in use, update the Peripherals
dialog to prevent further warnings."

In pro Tools: Setup->Peripherals: Command|8 lists inputs correctly, but only emulated outputs (including the Digi002R midi ports and the microsoft midi mapper).
The USB light on Command|8 is only on when unit is power-cycled with host computer turned off.

Have tried the following:

Uninstalling drivers manually as well as automatically multiple times.
Changing the USB cable with another cable know to be OK.
Installing PT6.7 (like it is written in the installation guide)
Installing Command8 driver (like it is written in the installation guide)
Uninstalling PT6.7
Uninstalling Command8 driver
cleaning up all driver
Reinstalling PT6.7
Reinstalling Command8
succesfully updated the firmware:
- I run C8FirmwareUpdater.exe
- Installed the file App V02.01.02.srec
Command8 shows the new firmware 02.01.02

I uninstalled everything, and wiped the registry manually of every trace of Command8.
(Searched for "command8" and "c|8", and deleted the entries I found

There was a possible solution posted: "Multiple Midi ports":
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32
I deleted all multiple entries. Cleaned all up.
Nothing happened. same problem like before "Pro Tools is unable to communicate with Command8..."

what else can I do to get the system runing?
I have seen this problem describted in a few messages in this forum but I could not find any helpfull solution!!!

I was runing a Pro Tools M-Powered7.1 with M-Audio Projekt Mix before and it worked perfect.

Here is what I found out:
I uninstalled Pro Tools LE 6.7 and all the device driver and went for installing M-Audio ProjektMIX IO and Pro Tools M-Powered7.1. Then I added the Command8 to the installation - and look it works!!!!!
With PT M-Powered the Command8 is welcoming me and shows up in the Midi Controller as C|8 surface -
NOT the C8 surface [emulat] one. It still works like it should be with all its faders, commands and some strawberrycream on top!!!!
but it still dont work with digi 002 rack and Pro Tools6.7.

hopefully Marc

and a black cat (mostly hungry)

New Pro Ttools LE 6.9 update and back to work

I installed the PT LE 6.9 update and have no broblems anymore. The command8 is shown up in the midi controller as C|8 surface (not emulated anymore) and is doing its job.
Hope this information will help others.

Default Re: Command|8 offline and no solution available?

Hi, this may be a long shot, but try switching USB ports and even do a fresh driver install on a new port. I had this problem with command8 on pt 6.7 and this worked to fix it.

Hope this helps.
