Default Pro Control and broadcast applications

Hey. This seems simple enough, but we can't seem to make it work. I need to be able to turn on a "warning, recording" light when my procontrol user wants to, from Procontrol. What I dearly want to avoid is a "mystery switch" mounted in the countertop somewhere that turns on a light. I wish to use one of procontrols own switches/logic/contact closures to trigger a light system. The foot switches are no good. They seem to be inbound only. Is there any possibility of reprograming a button to provide any kind of switching contact closure? What about MIDI output from the Procontrol WITHOUT the use of an expensive VSD or ADAT bridge? Are there any switches hiding in software that I can activate with a prom or something? I will be the coolest kid in school if I can make this happen. Help. I own 5 Procontrol's, and 5 PTNT boxes. Any ideas would be great..

There are companies that make clearly labeled recording light switches. It doesn't have to be a "mystery switch".

Probably can get one right out of the markertek catalog, or have, etc..

I guess what I am trying to avoid is drilling holes in my cabinets. All the other broadcast gear we use has standard contact closures somwhere on them. It is a basic function of our buisness. It drives everything from on-air automation to remote starts to warning lights to speaker and mic muting systems. A switch for one of each application would build up quickly. With some sort of control voltage out of the procontrol, I can accomplish what I need, and have room for customization. Maybe this could make its way to some sort of wishlist. I can't believe I am the only one who wishes he had some type of switch output. Thanks for the switch info, I am familiar with what is on the market, and I am just trying to avoid them...
