Well it's happened - VPS Avenger is definitely changing it's copy protection scheme from the current keyfile system to Codemeter. See first page 647 and then page 649 of this thread
https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewt...127&start=9720 where MSVS (Manuel from VSP) states they're going to Codemeter and that both iLok and eLicenser are not in the running. His post on page 649 says that Codemeter is to be implemented in the upcoming version 1.5 of Avenger. Supposedly they'll allow both the s/w version as well as the dongle version.
To tell the truth this sucks as I hate Codemeter - it's been nothing but a hassle with Reason. And I'll be damned if I have to buy yet a third dongle.
If you read earlier in the thread (say like 20 or so pages earlier) you'll see why this is happening. When I read this I thought that finally they're getting away from that keyfile system, especially having to get a new keyfile every time you get an expansion pack. iLok or eLicenser (aka Steinberg/Vienna dongle) I can live with as I have them already.
