my most recent problems

hi everyone, my main problem is after working on a session at 24bit 48k for 30 mins to an hour i get access violation when i try to save, either that or a scree saying i cant auto back up followed by the access violation. pt seems to be working fine at 16 but 44.1??? also when this happens a new folder appears in the relevant session folder which has a name a bit like...jhsgauoweyfgg, looks random to me anyway.

another problem i have is during editing. say ive copied and pasted a region and then try to region slide the original audio it some how deletes the previous copy and paste ive just performed and reverts back to the original region, im guessing theres something i need to change in my preferences but for the life of me cant find it.


final thing, im just wondering how you guys go about seperate monitor mixes, i use sends to analogue 7-8, and go from there, although i generally only have a seprate mix for drum tracking. but i do have problems as the sends arn't independent of the faders.

anyway if anyone has suggestions on any of this i'd be greatful

You can make your sends pre-fade for those monitor mixes. I send the main outs to a Behringer HA4700 headphone amp. then I send a couple of feeds out 7,8 and patch into the headphone amp for players that need "more me". Back to your problem, trashing your preferences might help. ALso, how much free space is on your audio drive?Just wondering if the drive is near full. As for editing and sliding regions, are you in SLIP mode?(I think you want to be). Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in.

That's exactly what I was going to ask, especially if you have "Open Ended Record Allocation" set to use all space. I had that happen yesterday on an almost full volume after a trashing of the prefs. Forgot to set it back to limit the time to 10 minutes, and got that access violation trying to record to an almost full volume (Time to backup some stuff, methinks).

how do you make them pre fades as that would definately work. on the other end of things my pc is pretty new and I have three hard drives, loads of space. and i i am in slip mode so its really bugging the hell out of me????

ah ive sorted the edit problem and found the pre fade send, still stuck on the access violation, really need to move up to 24bit too!
