Re: ASIO 003R Win7 What's the hold up?
What's priceless is the 15 post dude telling the 4 post dude that Pro Tools doesn't work. Experience in action.
And, of course, the multi thousand post guy who says "Really? It works all day long for me. Please post a SANDRA report so we can have a look at the specifics of your computer" gets ignored.

Re: ASIO 003R Win7 What's the hold up?
I'll post the sandra report little bit later, my studio computer doesn't access internet. But I found a workaround that is a bit annoying but works well. Run PT 8.0.3 install 8.0.4 drivers for Cubase for mixing and composing. then uninstall the 8.04 drivers and install just the pt 9 drivers (not the update, just the audio drivers) and track in protools for direct monitoring. then uninstall the 9 drivers and install the 8.0.4 drivers. I do this thru the windows programs and features. I walso reboot when switching. It seems pretty good, no blue screens or issues, except for the asio in 9, and no direct monitoring in 8.

Re: ASIO 003R Win7 What's the hold up?
Hi DSIM and zedhead so nice to meet you!
I did run my SiSandra in another post and had no response. Since this is more or less Dwells' post I didn't want to repeat it here, and I was dinged by one of the house nannies for cross posting, I didn't want to ruffle feathers so you will find it here. I hope someone can find something in this report and explain why this doesn't work. Just to amuse myself and to waste more of my breathing time here on Earth, I installed Pro Tools and the MBox on an XP laptop we have here and the same exact problem resulted -- "Hardware Not Connected" in the MBox Mini control panel. Hey zedhead, you think I'm a whiner? I am here for one reason, and that is to get this hardware fixed. If you don't want to help, do us both a favor and stay out of my way. ===== SiSoftware Sandra Computer Model : System manufacturer System Product Name Workgroup : WORKGROUP Host Name : Stephen-iCore7 User : Steve Processor Model : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz Speed : 2.8GHz Cores per Processor : 4 Unit(s) Threads per Core : 2 Unit(s) Type : Quad-Core Integrated Data Cache : 4x 32kB, Synchronous, Write-Thru, 8-way, 64 byte line size, 2 threads sharing L2 On-board Cache : 4x 256kB, ECC, Synchronous, ATC, 8-way, 64 byte line size, 2 threads sharing L3 On-board Cache : 8MB, ECC, Synchronous, ATC, 16-way, Exclusive, 64 byte line size, 16 threads sharing Computer Mainboard : Asus P6T SE BIOS : AMI 0403 05/19/2009 Bus(es) : ISA X-Bus PCI PCIe IMB USB FireWire/1394 i2c/SMBus Multi-Processor (MP) Support : No Multi-Processor Advanced PIC (APIC) : Yes Total Memory : 12GB DIMM DDR3 Chipset Model : ASUS X58 I/O Hub Front Side Bus Speed : 2x 2.41GHz (4.82GHz) Chipset Model : Intel Core Desktop (Bloomfield) UnCore Front Side Bus Speed : 2x 2.41GHz (4.82GHz) Total Memory : 12GB DIMM DDR3 Channels : 3 Memory Bus Speed : 2x 536MHz (1GHz) Memory Module(s) Memory Module : Corsair CM3X2G1333C9 2GB DIMM DDR3 PC3-10700U DDR3-1334 (9-9-9-24 5-34-10-5) Memory Module : Corsair CM3X2G1333C9 2GB DIMM DDR3 PC3-10700U DDR3-1334 (9-9-9-24 5-34-10-5) Memory Module : Corsair CM3X2G1333C9 2GB DIMM DDR3 PC3-10700U DDR3-1334 (9-9-9-24 5-34-10-5) Memory Module : Corsair CM3X2G1333C9 2GB DIMM DDR3 PC3-10700U DDR3-1334 (9-9-9-24 5-34-10-5) Memory Module : Corsair CM3X2G1333C9 2GB DIMM DDR3 PC3-10700U DDR3-1334 (9-9-9-24 5-34-10-5) Memory Module : Corsair CM3X2G1333C9 2GB DIMM DDR3 PC3-10700U DDR3-1334 (9-9-9-24 5-34-10-5) Video System Video Adapter : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 (216 SM4.0 1.35GHz, 896MB DDR3 2.1GHz 448-bit, PCIe 2.00 x16) Graphics Processor OpenCL Processor : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 (216SP 27C 1.35GHz, 896MB DDR3 2.1GHz 448-bit) Compute Shader Processor : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 (216SP 1.35GHz, 896MB DDR3 2.1GHz 448-bit) CUDA Processor : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 (216SP 27C 1.35GHz, 896MB DDR3 2.1GHz 448-bit) Storage Devices Hitachi HDT721010SLA360 (1TB, SATA300, 3.5", 7200rpm, 15MB Cache) : 932GB (C:) TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S222A (ATA66, DVD+-RW, CD-RW, 2MB Cache) : N/A (D:) Logical Storage Devices Hard Disk (C:) : 932GB (NTFS) @ Hitachi HDT721010SLA360 (1TB, SATA300, 3.5", 7200rpm, 15MB Cache) Optical Drive (D:) : N/A @ TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S222A (ATA66, DVD+-RW, CD-RW, 2MB Cache) Peripherals LPC Hub Controller 1 : ASUS LPC Interface Controller LPC Legacy Controller 1 : T0 A5-13 Audio Device : ASUS HD Audio Controller Audio Codec : Realtek Semi 888 High Definition Audio Disk Controller : ASUS 4 port SATA IDE Controller Disk Controller : ASUS 2 port SATA IDE Controller Disk Controller : ASUS JMB36X PCIE-to-SATAII/IDE RAID Controller USB Controller 1 : ASUS USB UHCI Controller #4 USB Controller 2 : ASUS USB UHCI Controller #5 USB Controller 3 : ASUS USB UHCI Controller #6 USB Controller 4 : ASUS USB EHCI Controller #2 USB Controller 5 : ASUS USB UHCI Controller #1 USB Controller 6 : ASUS USB UHCI Controller #2 USB Controller 7 : ASUS USB UHCI Controller #3 USB Controller 8 : ASUS USB EHCI Controller #1 FireWire/1394 Controller 1 : ASUS VT6315 Series Firewire Controller SMBus/i2c Controller 1 : Intel ICH SMBus Printers and Faxes Printer : Snagit 10 Printer (600x600, Colour) Printer : Amyuni Document Converter 400 (2400x2400, Colour) Printer : Microsoft XPS Document Writer (600x600, Colour) Printer : HP Officejet J6400 series (1200x1200, Colour) Printer : Amyuni Document Converter 400 (2400x2400, Colour) Fax : Microsoft Shared Fax Driver (200x200) Printer : Canon MX860 series Printer (Colour) Network Services Network Adapter : Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0) (Ethernet, 100Mbps) Power Management Mains (AC) Line Status : On-Line Operating System Windows System : Microsoft Windows 7 Home 6.01.7600 Platform Compliance : x64 Windows Experience Index Current System : 5.9 |

Re: ASIO 003R Win7 What's the hold up?
i fail to see a connection between postcount and experience.
it's been noted and even acknowledged by digitechsupport in numerous threads that asio is indeed screwed from 8.0.4 drivers (incl 8.0.5) and that they're "on it" til they have it fixed, only workaround is to use 8.0.4 betas with no direct monitoring or to use different audio device for asio. |

Re: ASIO 003R Win7 What's the hold up?
I don't get the connection about post counts at all. Or care. Can we fix the software/hardware problem? Dwells and I posted our precious SiSandra reports for all to see. Please expose the failure of my machine so I can slink away and stop bothering those of you who have Pro Tools working oh so efficiently.

Re: ASIO 003R Win7 What's the hold up?
To conclude our fun interaction and to bring this story to a close, and perhaps as a help to anyone else with the same problems ...
My MBox 3 Mini never did work, not for want to trying and providing unread, or at least unresponded-to Sandra reports (who is this Sandra anyway? Is she good looking?) I finally had to return my inexplicable MBox 3 Mini back yesterday, she being mute as a stone, as impenetrable and as silent, sacrificing her to the Gods of UPS, and to mix metaphors like a vanilla-fudge swirl, to avoid being a little Nixon fighting an unwinnable war. Today the muse must have struck, because I walked into the local music store and purchased a Presonus FireStudio Mobile (with the encouragement of an informed sales guy) ... came home, cleared my desk, and had it up and running (running being, the device being recognized, and recording and monitoring my guitar with current Windows 7 drivers) in 45 minutes. That included installing legacy firewire drivers first and some other trivia. Lesson being, if you can't skin a cat, skin a dog. Story over, good night and be well. |
