How To Use Pro Tools Offline

My apologies, I am using Version 18.10.0.246. I’m in the wrong place. I clicked on the link on a page that sent me to this forum and somehow I thought it was for the current version. I’ll post in the proper spot. My apologies once again, thank you all for the help.

I have Version 18.10.0.246 of Pro Tools Ultimate for MacOS Mojave, version 10.14.2. How do I use Pro Tools offline? When I load up the program and am not connected to the internet I get a message informing me that I need to connect to the internet in order to proceed, and when I click OK the program shuts down. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think this has been answered in this thread already. The license for Pro Tools Ultimate 2018.10 must either be in iLok Cloud (which requires a persistent internet connection) or on an iLok USB Key.

So it's apparently impossible to use Pro Tools without an internet connection. I closed the cloud session in iLok and was informed I had 5 minutes to save my work before the Pro Tools session closed. I find this to be a severe limitation of the program.

Wrong. You just don't know what you are doing.
Re-read Jeffro's link just above your post. Get a physical ilok. Drag the license from the ilok cloud to the physical ilok attached to the computer. That's it.

This is what a physical ilok looks iike that you can use for this purpose:


If you are using the cloud ilok system (which "cloud" = network) then of course you need to be connected to the network.

I have the same problem.
I have Protools Ultimate and I can't open a session (new or old) offline.
I can open a session with a close cloud session...

I don't have internet connection in my home studio (3rd floor underground).

Could you help me?

You need to have your license on iLok key and just stick it to your studio computer. Cloud is a wrong place for your license if you have connection problems.

I don't have a physical iLok key...I bought my Protools digitally...
ILok keys still exist?

License key still the way most are using. Just buy one and your problem goes away
