Video Window White Bar

Is it possible to change the color of Video Window bar?

Or is there another solution?

Black tape is not an option, we are using a Video Projector...

I complained about this last year and Avid (then Digi) didn't know what the heck I was talking about. I took a screenshot and sent it to them and never heard back. I was hoping it would be fixed in PT9, but it has not. I have my doubts that it will ever be addressed, but maybe if enough people complain about it, it'll get their attention.

Did you send this to me or someone else?

Either way - would it be possible to get the video file you're seeing this with?

You can upload it using any free service (or whatever file storage service you prefer) and send the link to download it to me at : vi [at] digidesign [dot] com.

I haven't had time to look into this, but wanted to get a head start and having a file that will exhibit what you're seeing is the first place for me to start.

Digi, this white bar is video window native, this bar contains Close Button, Minimize Button and Maximize Button, doesnt matter the kind of video, i think this should be a preference that can be changed like Track Color, Audio Color or something like this.

Exactly. It's not a problem with a specific video file. It's the frame around the movie picture that shows up on the top as a solid white line with a red dot (for closing the window).

Ok, yeah, this one I remember now. That bar is part of Quicktime which, the last time I checked, we don't have specific control over.

I'm going to have engineering look at this again, as I know there were some changes in Quicktime 10 that may allow us to do more with this.

I can make it go away on a 1920 by 1080 (16:9) monitor/projector but not a 1920 by 1200 (or any other 16:10)

We don't have control over that bar in Quicktime, but there's an app (I'm forgetting the name of it right off hand) that will allow you to eliminate that bar. Let me see if I can dig it up...
