Bypassing Amp/Effects for mic preamp only

I am having trouble using the ElevenRack as a interface/preamp only for tracking vocals. No matter what I do the guitar effect is still there.

I did change the input to "mic" under the edit menu.
Avid makes you pay for tech support via phone and sweetwater had me on hold too long. Hopefully someone has an answer here. Thanks in advance.

Are you running the mic through the Rig? What is Rig Input set to?

Set to "mic" right now

You do not need to send the Mic through the rig if you are using a DAW.

All you need to do is choose MIC for the MONO AUDIO track input.

You can send the mic through the rig if you want and use the effects in the Eleven Rack to shape your sound. If you do not want any effects, just bypass everything or switch the Eleven Rack to the Tuner.

If you do not have MIC as an option for an input, then your IO is probably screwed up. Default it, and try again.

I ended up "resetting" my I/O to default and soved the issue. However, I get the error message everyime I start up Protools

Delete the Hardware insert on the track/s (reinsert if needed using current I/O configuration). After saving session, providing you do have a working platform (ie have enough system resources), next time you open it you shouldn't get the error message.
