Mac Os 10.6.8 Pro Tools 9.0.3 003R
I have updated my midi drivers for my 003R. I am having latency trouble in my audio tracks. Set up all Mac functions, Bluetooth, Airport, according to Avid Just updated to 10.6.8 before I realized that problem involved. Any solutions to my situation?

What sort of latency trouble? Also, did you use the Combo Updater for 10.6.8 or System Update? The former is recommended. It can be installed over the System Update if needed.

Thanks for your help. I plugged in my guitar and when I play it echoes rather than play straight through. I am not sure if I am missing a setting in PTs or not. My machine is a IMac i 7 with 16GB of ram. I am sure there are enough resources.

Re: Mac Os 10.6.8 Pro Tools 9.0.3 003R
Yes, that's recording latency. It's dependent on the Hardware Buffer setting. In Pro Tools, Setup menu, Playback Engine, the top item is H/W Buffer Size. Set that as low as it will go. The lower it is, the less recording latency you will have. The higher it is, the more mix power you'll have. All digital recording systems have some latency. Most people don't notice it much when the H/W Buffer Size is 64 or less.

Quote:
* Secondly do as recommended above, lowering your buffer size * If you have heavy plugins on your mastering track you can disarme the delay compensation for only that track by View/Delay Compensation and after that you go down under the fader in Mix-view and click right-click on the green dly and disable it so it turns grey. DOES anyone have a good explanation to why this isn't done from the start, since this is the final channel of the chain and doesn't need to be compensated on the other tracks? (This doesn't solve your problem with recording latency, this is regarding to the next step in your workflow and for getting it to work as supposed to...)
