No matter what, apple is going to have old processors for a long time. DDR3 is slow and even i7's slow compared to intel processors just released i7 v3. That's what you are signing up for when you buy Mac.

Of course they probably can't legally, but isn't that what make a Hackintosh a Hackintosh? OSX installed on a PC.

Give me that, make it updatable, clone-able, have it behave EXACTLY like a Mac.... you got my money.

We can't install OSX on our machines. Apple could own me and force me to be their janitor the rest of my life. We do use the approved parts, can have a drive installed and ready, and point you the proper direction for the needed information.

anyways so I go into an apple store and get the last i7 quad core..

actually I have some regret - cos on the phone they had 2.6 quad i7 for HK$ 5280 wit 8 gig of ram 1 tb drive ( dont think include apple care extend? )

but when I got down all they had was 2.3 with 4 gig - but 2 x 1TB drive HK$6700


not my choice - but felt pressure so bought it..

I can always take it back I guess? ( not yet opened - guess I got a week?)

cos now I gotta upgrade RAM an change to SSD...
