Is the Firewire port light illuminated on the 002? Do you know about the power harness issue the 002s had? Sounds like that might be the issue, but I'm not saying it is for sure.

thanks for the response. FW port is illuminated, but, of course the 1394 light is not flashing on the front.

I have done the harness upgrade already, and that part is fine. Had this working last week fine until hd failure and reinstallation and upgrade.

I just remember something else... If you go to "setup" menu then "playback engine" you can select the audio hardware at top; make sure it is 003.

Try installing the PT9 002 drivers again, by your description it sounds like they aren't in there.

What I found that works is to go to your HD/Library/audio/Midi drivers and drag it all to the trash with the 003 off and reinstall just the 002 and 003 drivers. Reboot and turn on 003 and check your Midi studio. It worked for me. I read that somewhere and it actually worked. Good luck.
