003 driver problem pt11

Since Avid has said the 003 WILL be supported, a fix should be in the works.

Oh, the new 002/003 drivers have "Avid" in the title and not "Digi". So if it says "Avid 003", that is the new driver.

Might be worth posting a Sandra report. My 003 is working fine with 10.3.5, 10.3.6 and 11.01. Could be a FW controller issue or a FW driver issue.

On the Mac I have managed to get things 'working' by installing the 10.3.3 003 driver after installing the pt 11 003 driver. It's really flaky and usually involves a fair bit of sodding around ( switching the console off and on and manually killing processes sometimes) but it functions. Midi is a pain as you end up with 2 midi devices and it seems to be pot luck which one will actually function at any point in time - you have to re route your 003 midi using audio setup to which ever one happens to be 'chosen' at any particular point in time.

As i say, it 'works', is a right royal pain in the ass and definitely not for the faint hearted - it took me a few days to work out what the hell was going on and has crashed more than once (but not during a session, only when trying to get the damn thing in a straight line at the start of a session).

NOT RECOMMENDED - but if you've no choice it's an option.

Sorry, bad form to reply to your own post I know - Albee I think the problem is with the 003 console on the MAC not the 003 rack as the audio interface works fine as per NigelPry earlier - it's just the 003 console users who are screwed as none of the control stuff works.

Or are you saying you have a 003 console and it's working for you ?

Yep, working fine here, but I'm on Windows 7, so afraid I can't be of much help. Fingers crossed for ya

This worked here too for a 003 console/Mac.
Install both drivers and you'll get a Digi003 and an Avid003 audiodriver in your audio preferences. Choose Digi003 in PT10 and Avid003 in PT11 as your interface and you'll have full console support in both applications.

Everything has changed. You will now retweak your workflow. My 003 is now called something new , but its working! I notice that PT11 now has (built in mic) as input instead of input 1, etc as before. Also the sessions in PT10 are not in the same place as before. you gotta do different stuff to open them.

Is it just me, or does the Low-Latency monitoring mode in PT11 on a 003 sound funny? I can't put my finger on it .. it sounds like bit truncation ...\

On playback .. it sounds fine . but while monitoring it doesn't sound right .....

After installing both PTHD11.0.1 and PTHD10 I too have managed to get things 'working' by installing the 10.3.3 003 driver after installing the pt HD11 driver.

PTHD10.3.6 now seems to work fine with 003 console either after restarting computer or after quitting PTHD 11.0.1

But PTHD11 only sees and works with the 003 console properly after computer restart and not after PTHD10.3.6 has been used first after the restart. In the latter case the console controls are disabled and only the interface seems to be working.

A very time consuming workaround. Why do I feel like I am beta testing?
