Original MBox on Win 10

Hi there,

I'm looking to get pro tools up and running after having not used it and updated it since version 8 if I recall correctly.

I have an original mbox that I want to use and a dell inspiron 17 laptop running windows 10.

I don't seem to have my old log in details for my account
Does anyone know what I have to do or where to download a compatible, updated version of protools that will work with my current set up.

I've contacted avid customer service a week ago and havent gotten a reply.

Any assistance in the matter will be highly appreciated.

Welcome back, but you missed a lot! Things to consider:
1-Mbox(original) will not work with Pro Tools software newer than 8.0.5.
2-Pro Tools software of that age is not supported by Windows 10.
3-Installing the old software in XP or Win7 mode MIGHT work(and it might not)
4-If you scrap Pro Tools and go with another DAW, the old Mbox is not going to work at all.

If its Pro Tools you want, you could try PTFirst. Its free, but you need a new iLok at around $45, and you will NEED a new interface. If you buy a Presonus Interface, you'll get a free copy of Studio One software so you can try that DAW, knowing that the interface will still work with any modern version of Pro Tools
