Wish people would stop whining about prices.
Time is money.
It's the cost of doing business.

The $299 I paid for RX4 Advanced upgrade (ambience match) paid for itself in 2 shows. Will gladly pay for RX5 audio suite version!!
Not to mention the EQ match function. Matching frankenbites from 3 seasons worth of interviews, done across the country is now attainable.

I dont mind paying for it.

I just want to know that I dont have issues haning onto old versions.

And will there be maintenance updates for old versions? to keep them working with future DAW releases.

Rob?

Thanks

Hey Louis,

Sorry for the delay in responding to this thread, as I have been traveling.

Currently, we don't have plans to update earlier versions of RX, and this is mainly because we haven't been made aware of major issues occurring with updates to OS's & DAWs/NLEs.

With that said, if there was a major issue with a recent version of our products running on an updated Win/Mac OS, We would investigate to understand what the fix would be.

Best,
Rob

Sure, at your end of the business it makes perfect sense. For those of us trying to get results that compare to the work you do but for clients with a tiny fraction of the budget yours have, working out of our homes or in very modest facilities, price matters. A lot.

Even in my day job we wound up with the standard version because we couldn't get the price of Advanced past the beancounters.

For the bulk of the post work I do, time is more readily available than money.

15 Years ago, I was laid off from Technicolor after 12 years, and looking for work.
I spent $6500.00 for a used MIX3 system, and Mackie monitors, using a credit card cash advance.
After everything, I was 10K in debt. I never looked back, nor regretted spending the money.
I refused to work out of my home, that was too unprofessional, instead, I loaded all into road cases, and mixed shows (in the box) in production company offices.

After 2 trade up cycles, Im driving an Omni HD with HDX pushing JBL LSR6328s

The production company I freelance for, has a Pro Tools system with very basic plugins.

To this day, I spend MY OWN money on plugins like RX4 advanced, just to name one, to keep myself ahead of the competition. Along with my talent, it gives me an edge, , I work nonstop.

I never bitched at spending money, because that is the cost of doing business.

It's easy to misunderstand the gripes of others when your own perspective varies but all that really means is that you're in different shoes than others. For many, the *concerns* are very easily justified and the pricing/upgrading scheme doesn't play into their business plan. My company has such a model and though we've been longtime RX owners we've begun pursuing alternatives due to Izotope's upgrade maneuvers over the past 2 or 3 years, and time is no less valuable to us.

Agreed. Working from home is way too unprofessional.

Thanks for the great preview.
At 14:20, you process multiple files in RX. Is it possible to process all those files with a single command? Or do we always have to jump between tabs and process files one by one?

I believe this workflow in RX5 is a workaround to a limitation within ProTools. Avid will need to make changes on their end.
