Session bounce times
It seems everything I bounce on my Project 1 card bounces in realtime. Eg. a ten minute track will take around 11.5 mins to bounce and convert. I guess this is due the the Project 1's heritage - TDM systems have the opportunity of running realtime plug-ins while bouncing. This leads me to two questions.
1. Why does my friend's AMIII card bounce at around 5x speed? 2. Is there a way of telling PT no real-time plugins are being used, and therefore speed up the bounce? It's fine for individual songs, but I do a bit of album comping, and bounce times are as big as 2hrs! |

Re: Session bounce times
Marc
You can bounce to disk "faster" on the AMIII card because it doesn't utilize TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) architecture which requires real time processing. There is no way to bounce in the TDM enviroment without real time being part of the equation. Even though you might not be using TDM plug-ins or bus sends, TDM technology is running in the background. Brad |
