Default Mixer choice and the future of the DELTA 1010

Hey,

I just got hold of a Delta 1010, an upgrade from the 44 for which I had the omni box which meant i needed no pre-amps.

Now, I have read somewhere that future pro tools updates will NOT support the 1010. Is this true?

If so, what are my best (and cheapest) options for gaining 8 inputs into my PC

Also, are there any 8-12 channel desks anyone knows of which are particularly great sounding for not much money? I will be buyign 2nd hand more than likely.

thanks!

Also, why would Digi decide not to support certain soundcards all of a sudden?
