Default is my mbox 2 pro dead?

My Mbox2 pro has stopped working. No lights. Protools 8 says unable to detect hardware.

I have read numerous other posts and this seems a common problem.

I tried installing pt on a pc running vista to re install the firmware but no joy.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

B

Geez....why do folks torture themselves with Vista?? Anyways, is your Pro Tools the LE version? Did it work before? Is your Vista install the 32 bit or 64 bit version(64 bit will not work)?

So did that just die on its own or were you trying to do something to it prior?

You need to trouble shoot all the way back to the FireWire card in your computer, cable, card, device manager, plug the whole schmeel

Bumped this (last month's) thread because mine died after a Mac OS update...started a thread earlier, then went searching for answers again.

I'm thinking the original poster may have given up, but I'm not ready to....so....can you take a look at my thread and let me know what you think?
