Default low input signal

Hello, I have my guitar amps connected to my 002r via channel 5,6,7,8. The problem I am having is when I connect my amps to my 002r via the amps line out; the signal I get is extremely low. So low that the signal won’t peek. I pushed the db boost button on the back of the amp but that only boost the signal about 1mm, barley noticeable.

Is there a setting somewhere in the software that adjusts the level (other than the fader)?

Thank you,
Richard

Are you using the 002's inputs set to -10? If not try that..

If you are refering to the boost signal button on the back of the rack by the input, yes I am. It makes a little differance but not much. I believe the signal should be strong enough to be able to peak. Am I right? I am starting to think it is a repair issue.

Thank you for your sugestion.

Couple more questions:

Same reaction on all inputs 5-8? I'm thinking that would make it less likely that it is a problem with your 002.

What about inputs 1-4? Set them to the "line/inst" setting and try with the gain all the way down at first.

If still no good, then gain down and set the input to "mic". This will boost about 18db (if I remember correctly). You shouldn't need to use it on this setting and that would make me think that your amp is not putting out enough signal...

Test inputs 1-4 by plugging you guitar directly in (no amp) or with a stompbox of some sort and see if you get a usable signal on the "inst/line" setting. You will probably have to crank up the gain knob a bit to get a level.

Another question is about your guitar amp: What is it, for one thing?

Does the line out have it's own level control?

Does the amp have separate preamp and master volumes? If so the preamp volume should probably be up and the master down to a reasonable level.
