Automation lanes greyed out on some tracks?

Have been getting this problem since upgrading to 2018.

Working in a session and I want to automate something and all the lanes are greyed out. There's a blue line behind the automation line that reads the current parameter.

This is only on a few audio tracks, not on all of them and the automation window is showing everything as normal as it should be, nothing suspended.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening? Never happened to me until recently and it's very frustrating!

I've tried everything from clicking the automation lanes with every modifier and still no success.

Try Ctrl+click, maybe they are inactive. Also, are you using VCAs? Are the tracks frozen?

Nope - Does nothing. I've tried everything I can think of.

I can deactivate other lanes in other tracks by cmd clicking but there are some tracks that are inactive and no idea why it has happened.

The track is not frozen. There is one VCA in the session but the tracks arn't in the same VCA grp

the screenshot says it all. Your track automation is set to OFF. Switch to read/touch/latch. It will do the magic, I promise)

DubMonkey - Thanks for this! I've shut down my computer now but I think that's whats been bugging me! I hope you are right!

I have no idea how or why this has been happening tho. Do you know how this could have happened accidentally to a handful of tracks?

Probably just human error I presume! Never really noticed that little Automation button down there all this time I've been on PT (about 2 years).
