drum replacement / augmentation options
i have been trying drumagog for the past two days
it seems to do the things i'm looking for sure works more accurately than sound replacer i see they have 3 prices for different levels of uses i'm pretty sure i need the basic version although i have the pro...not platinum version installed as a demo my buddy says to check out toontracks...and that appeared to be more midi oriented than what i'm looking to do i'm asking you guys what you use and why is drumagog the preferred replacement/augmentation tool?

Re: drum replacement / augmentation options
I have DRUM REHAB but have well....I'll just bite my tongue, it's good but has it's issues. I think what you're trying out is really your most ideal solution.

Re: drum replacement / augmentation options
At the moment there is a video tutorial on the Toontracks site that shows the method of using their product. It's quite a detailed method if you want to dig that deep.
On the other hand if you search the DUC you will find a great post by Kingfish where he demonstrates the simplicity and speed of the Massey DTM plug. I have Drumagog but never used it after seeing David's video.

Re: drum replacement / augmentation options
Drumagog 5 is due out in April, if you can wait that long. It looks like it has some real improvements, most notably the sample accuracy.

Re: drum replacement / augmentation options
I use Drumagog and DTM. Pretty much all you need. Drumagog does quick sample replacement, while DTM triggers any sampler for the sample you have loaded. They both work awesome. I don't use PT anymore for mixing, so watch that sample latency when using Drumagog in PT.

Re: drum replacement / augmentation options
I have Drumagog but I always run into phase problems with the Kick drum to the point where I either use Drumagog at 100% or I use my raw Kick track. Trying to blend them becomes a nightmare. I can hardly wait to try out Trigger. It seems like it will be available first. I'm sure the new Drumagog (5) will be good too, but I think Trigger will come with Stephen Slate samples which are far superior to Drumagog's current sample library.

Re: drum replacement / augmentation options
Hi,
Drumagog just isn't accurate enough. its hit and miss where it lands, sometimes early sometimes late and occasionally on the button. Rehab is accurate, but mono only and a terrible browser, but gets the job done. DTM if you have it!! then use your favorite midi playback plugin. don't know about the others Chris

Re: drum replacement / augmentation options
Here is what I have learned- Drum Rehab is very good if you learn how to tweak it correctly. But, it doesn't do stereo samples. So, you have to use Drummagog for that. The two in combination can create amazing results. I've seen someone who is adept at this (he's on the DUC) arrive at fantastic drum sound overhauls.
