Default Setting up a session?

I was wondering how to set up a session template with all the headphone routings, and mike line inputs a all. Do I open a new sesion set the routings then save as command to a named session folder Do i need to create a folder on my audio drive first . I never done this before, so not sure. I want to be able to just load my template on each new track, and save it to the session folder, so there will be 10 songs in that folder. I'am using pro tools 7, 002R ,focusrite octopre . Or how do all you pros do it ? Thanks so much smirk:

This is what I generally start with.

Uses a FURMAN headphone pre setup.

Good luck...

I usually start with the template, then SAVE AS and make the folder. It then creates all the other appropriate folders.

I know DOC has his own way of doing it, but IMHO, the safest way to work with a template is to create a new session and then "Import Session Data" from the template. That way, the template is never open and subject to potential corruption, and the disk allocation is always correct from the get-go.

That is what I do Shawn when I go to MIX. I usually just made this one for a session that we tracked all drums first. Just made sense.

We all do what works ya dig.
