Mbox 3 Shipping!

I just bought an Mbox 3!
Actually, it is called an Avid Mbox.

Went to Guitar Center in Nashville at 11am today, Monday Sept. 13, to buy an Mbox 2, and the guy comes back from the warehouse with the new one. Discounted price $590 vs $449 for the Mbox 2.

The guy said it had been shipped in this morning. At first, it wasn't in the system and he said he couldn't sell it yet, then he went to the warehouse to check again, and by then they had input it into the system.

Grey enclosure, sits flat, rounded corners left and right, flat front and back, Avid logo. Combined 1/4" and XLR mic/line inputs. Same other inputs and controls as mbox 2. That's all I know so far. Need to read, install, etc. Shipped with LE v 8.0.4

got a call from my Buddy.. bought mbox 3 2 hours back..i need to c this.

Printed manual doesn't say anything about what kind of USB it uses. No specs in manual at all.

At least it comes with all the plugins that used to come with the Factory version. So I paid $40 more than what an Mbox 2 Factory is going for.

Installed perfect so far. Listening to huge project imported from HD. Over 6 hours of music on 56 tracks. LE will play 48.

Manual shouldn't have to say it... says USB 2.0 right on the back of the device.

I don't get the marketing strategy. They are selling a product they have not announced yet and still keeping a secret ?

How do they expect to make money if nobody know it's out ?
