Help! Pro tools 12 playback slow and offbeat when I reopened the session

So I am new to pro tools 12. I was still using 7 and decided to make the jump cause nothing was compatible with it anymore. So I went to record vocals for the first time and everything went smooth. Sounded great! I saved it and closed the session so I could mix it the following day. I open it up the next day and everything sound off. It was slow and offbeat. Why did this happen and can I fix it? Or do I have to record it again? Did the clocks not match up? Really have no idea

If you are using the Scarlett for your windows desktop sound, it may have taken over and changed the sample rate possibly? If you recorded in PT at 48K and windows is running sound at 44.1 it would play back slow.

So how would I change that?

So I checked and both were set to 44.1K I have no idea what to do. Can I salvage the session?

Find out what sample rate the actual wave file of the vocal is. If it's 48 as suspected, import it to a session with a sample rate of 48 and see if it plays back correctly. But be sure the Scarlett is NOT being used for Windows sounds/audio and that it's set to a sample rate of 48 first.

Thank you! I did check last night and everything that I checked was set at 44.1 but I did not look at the actual wave file.

I did end up re-recording it. And it seemed like everything went fine. I closed it and reopened it and it was correct.
