Default Using MIDI Pedal to mute channels

Hi all,

We are trying to find a way to mute specific tracks in Pro Tools everytime a midi footswitch is depressed. Basically the end goal is to use our same mics for talkback to each other while on stage. We came across the radial splitter for this purpose but dont like the idea of runnning more XLRs from every mic and taking up a bunch more channels. As it is now if we mute a track it still goes to all the sends of course which is just our inner ears and on stage monitors.

Our main question is: is there a way to "Mute Channel X" when you receive MIDI command "Y". We are not opposed to funneling our midi through another program to transform it but cant find info anywhere on what midi command might do this inside pro tools -if any!

Any and all help/advice is appreciated.

Thanks!
