I don't want to hire a real drummer for my recording. Can somebody tell me about a real drum samples , maybe a plug-in, software. I've heard about Discrete Drums and Drukkit from Hell. Are there more outhere?

acoustic or electronic drum samples?

if acoustic Drumkit from hell is killer, a sequel is due late december 2003 and includes a customized NI Kompakt player.
The wizoo Platinum kits are also hot but dfh is better.
also try the sonicimplants they are cool,
and from http://www.naturalstudio.co.uk you geta superb FREE natural drumkit

electronic I would recommend wizoo electronic drums 8008/909. those go deep!

you may try Kontakt from NI or Battery, d/l the demos!!!

best

I use Battery, Reason and Plugsound, obviously not all at the same time. Not a lot ofguys talk about Plugsound products around here, but I will strongly advise you to consider this fine product:

www.plugsound.com

!st of all it is powered by UVI engine, and it is listed as a plug-in. I use " Drums and Percs Elements", and for $99.00 this product is slammin'...I use it all the time because it is fast and efficient.

Battery and Reason also are very good, but Plugsound is easier to operate if you are not a tweak head, but Reason and Battery have more options if you want to spend time on the learning curve.

I use single hit drum samples quite extensively triggered by a Roland V-drums kit. My favs, which are already mentioned on this thread, are Drumkit From Hell and Timetrap because they both have hits with both close and room mic perspectives allowing one to get pretty darn convincing acoustic drum tracks. The Timetrap collection also has an "overhead" perspective in addition to close and room, which I believe DFH II will have. If you can wait, I would hold out until January, 2004 when DFH II comes out because that looks like it will be killer. According to the blurb on their website, the Kontact interface they will ship with it will let one dial in all sorts of settings including bleed from other drums. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Hey, along these same lines, does anybody know if there's a plug-in for pro tools that will play soundfonts? Preferably a low-cost one, my budget is tight.
