I tried the demo and was VERY impressed with it, and as friend Christopher points out, there are some dynamite libraries out there for it already...though they seem a bit pricey to me.
I'm staying with the stock sounds that come with Avenger for now. Going to spend some time dissecting them to see what makes them tick and try and come up with sounds of my own. I came up with some dynamite stuff with my old Yamaha DX7-II by tweaking what was there which unfortunately I no longer have. Stupidest move I ever made - giving that synth away.

Be aware that the demo on their site is not the latest version; there's been additions. If you need help PM or better yet email me.

Jack and Donald - I have loads of sounds for Avenger that doesn't need licenses so pm if you want me to hook you up.
No rush on the manual; just surprised they don't have one as part of the installer packet. As to sounds - like I wrote above I'm going to dissect what's there and see what I come up with.

This is what I like about the DUC - we help each other out.

Looking for Serum and Avenger too.
Seems serum is never on offer and always ends up around €165,00 (ccard exchange) with Avenger I might get lucky with the yearly Vengeance holiday season sale.

Avenger will not be on the deals list this year as it is not old enough. Same with Nexus2 but expansion sales will be done for them.

There is a great option to buy Serum where you pay 10USD a month via Splice and Xfer for 18 months and then you own Serum outright. No interest or hidden fees. Steve Duda is behind that deal so no funny business. Awesome if you cant cough up the full price in one go.

3 day trial included too.

See this page and look at the Duda video.

I know atleast three guys who are a few months into that payment and works like a charm. You split the payment and pay exctly what it cost up to 18-19 months, then you have the full license. You can pay off the remainder when ever you want and you can STOP and go back on again should you have problems with a month or two without losing anything you already paid off. The only thing that will happen is Serum stop working the time you dont pay.

Talking about pricing - here's a weird one: looking at the invoice for Avenger (remember that I'm in the USA and pay in $) I see I got charged my state's sales tax. What is is the overall price I paid was $220 US which we all can see by looking at the web page. What they did was priced Avenger at $205.85 and added on the $14.15 (6.875% sales tax in NJ) for the total of $220.00. Kudos for doing it that way and not charging the sales tax on top of the $220. Can't recall ever paying state sales tax on s/w.

I did the Splice thing this afternoon, works great, at least 3 days without reloading Serum every 20mins.

The payment option I mentioned in my post above. $9.99 a month interest free until you paid $189 and you own Serum.

I really, really like Serum and use it a lot...especially for fat or low end sounds. I've picked up some nice patch libraries for it as well. For anyone using Serum, I'd recommend looking at this library from Plugin GuruJohn “Skippy” Lehmkuhl. I'd also recommend the Serum patch libraries from Freshly Squeezed Samples. They also have some good ones for Spire, Dune 2. Sylenth and Zebra, along with some pretty good sample libraries for samplers.
