Default Profire 2626 with Avid Sync IO

I have a PT Sync IO which I would like to use on a PT standard - non HD rig. My interface is an M-Audio profire 2626. There is no option (button) on the front panel of the Sync IO to change the sample rate. It's defaulted to 44.1 & I want to change it to 48. I have tried in the Profire software but for some strange reason I get a warning error and it goes back to 44.1 on the software. I know in PT HD you can change the sample rate in the session and it will update it on the IO. I have read theres a PC version to do this, however I am on mac. Any solutions out there please?
